Herriman Resident Lookup Sources
A one-person search in Herriman is a set of checks, not a single household roll. The Salt Lake County Assessor can tie an owner to a situs parcel and show a mailing clue, but it does not list every person at an address. The Utah voter file has public fields with protected exceptions. Utah Courts Xchange adds party and case detail. Vital records answer family and life-event questions, while business and license files show affiliations that may not be residences.
| Record | What It Confirms | Where to Search | Access |
|---|---|---|---|
| Property roll | Owner, situs, mailing clue, parcel | Salt Lake County Assessor | Free; not all occupants |
| Voter record | Name, address, age range, status, districts, history | Vote.Utah.gov and County Clerk | Public fields; limits apply |
| Court record | Party name, case, filed address if present, outcome | Utah Courts Xchange | Paid web; free public terminals |
| Vital record | Birth, death, marriage, family links | Salt Lake County Vital Records | 100/50/75-year rules |
| Business or license | Entity role, profession, license status | Utah DOPL and Commerce | Free public verification |
Use the record that matches the question. An address points first to the Assessor and Salt Lake County Recorder. A court question belongs in Xchange or with the Herriman Justice Court clerk. A family question may lead to the County Vital Records office, Utah State Archives, Herriman Cemetery forms, or a probate docket. A former classmate may be better served by Series 27951 school registers, yearbooks, or newspapers than by a current record.
Verify One Herriman Resident
A careful resident lookup uses two fixed identifiers before combining records. The best pair depends on the person. An address and parcel can support one match; an age range and spouse or parent clue can support another. A same-name hit is only a lead until the date, court, family, or property detail agrees.
- Normalize the name. Record the full spelling, middle initial, suffix, maiden or former surname, approximate age, and every known Herriman address or former address.
- Anchor the name. Search the Assessor owner field in “Last Name, First Name” form, capture situs and mailing separately, and note the parcel, legal description, value, and exemption.
- Test the court trail. Search Xchange statewide, then narrow to Salt Lake County, Third District, or Herriman Justice Court. Try the first-name wildcard and name variants.
- Cross-check the event. Use a public vital index, cemetery record, obituary, or family clue. Recent copies require eligibility, so use the custodian's request route.
- Preserve the match. Save the source URL, retrieval date, record number, exact field labels, image or page, and the reason the two records point to the same person.
For an heir, connect a death or obituary to the cemetery or vital record, then look for a Third District probate docket and property references. For a birth-parent question, use Utah's official adoption-record and confidential-intermediary rules under Utah Code §§81-13-103 and 81-13-504. A public index cannot override an adoption seal.
- Docket
- A court's running list of filings, events, hearings, orders, and outcomes for a case.
- Index versus image
- An index or summary points to a record. The image or full file contains the underlying document and may cost more or require access review.
- Certified copy
- A custodian-issued copy with a certification that it matches the official record. Eligibility and fees depend on the record type.
Herriman Resident Lookup Xchange Fields
Utah Courts Xchange covers district and justice court summaries. Search by jurisdiction, search type, case number, last name or company, first name, case type, scope, birth date when available, citation number, and a date range panel. A first-name asterisk returns variations and middle initials. Party names are entered as filed, so try a maiden name, suffix, initials, spelling variant, or company name.
The search page is not the same as a complete court file. Most district courts used CORIS by the end of 1998, while justice-court conversion dates differ. Public district documents filed electronically since July 1, 2010 are in the stated Xchange scope. Sealed, private, juvenile, adoption, and expunged material can be absent. Herriman Justice Court handles traffic, small claims, and criminal or ordinance matters; the Third District Court is the broader Salt Lake County trial court.
A web guest session is billable. The inspected page listed a $10 one-time or guest fee, searches at $0.20, and documents at $1. Free public terminals are available at most district courthouses and the Utah State Law Library. When a Herriman case summary is thin, contact the Justice Court clerk at 801-446-5323 or jcherriman@utcourts.gov.
The Utah Courts Xchange help page shows the search fields used for a Herriman resident lookup.

The Xchange help screen illustrates why a county, court, date, and party role belong in the saved notes. A name-only result can combine unrelated people.
| Field label | Type and practical use |
|---|---|
| Jurisdiction | District, Justice, or both; narrow to the court that fits the record. |
| Last name/Company | Party surname or company as filed; test exact variants. |
| First Name | Text field; an asterisk can return variations and middle initials. |
| Case Type | Dropdown code list; helps separate civil, criminal, family, and other matters. |
| Search Scope | Statewide, county, or particular court. |
| Birth Date | Often available for a criminal defendant, but not guaranteed. |
| Citation and dates | Useful for a known Herriman citation or filing period; neither is unique alone. |
Herriman Resident Lookup Court Results
An Xchange result records court location, case type and code, case number, filing date, party name and code, and case history. Party detail may show a filed address. Save the case number with the court location because an address can be old, a service address, or missing.
Documents are separate from the index summary and cost $1 each. A docket is a running case record, not proof that a person lives in Herriman. District of Utah PACER is the federal fallback for civil electronic cases from July 1989 and criminal cases from November 1992.
- County and court location, case type, code, and case number.
- Filing date, party name, party role or code, and filed address when present.
- Birth date when available, usually for a criminal defendant.
- Events, hearings, judgments, orders, decrees, documents, and stated outcome.
- Omitted categories such as sealed, private, juvenile, adoption, and expunged matters.
Herriman Justice Court has no public local name-search form exposed. Give the clerk the exact spelling, approximate filing date, and case number if known. For a broader civil, felony, family, or probate question, compare Xchange with Third District Court.
Herriman Vital Record Checks
Utah Code §26B-8-125 sets the public periods: birth records after 100 years, death records after 50 years, and other vital records, including marriage and divorce abstracts, after 75 years. Salt Lake County Vital Records issues Utah birth and death certificates through local offices. The County Clerk keeps the full marriage license when the application was filed there. A full divorce decree is a district-court record, while the County Vital Records route covers 1978 to 2010 marriage and divorce abstracts.
Recent birth and death certificates are limited to the subject, listed family categories, or a legally recognized interest. County guidance names self, current spouse, parent, grandparent, sibling, child, or grandchild, with identification and proof of relationship for others. Another person's marriage copy requires GRAMA, with a listed $5 certified copy plus $3 U.S. shipping. Current birth and death fees were not exposed.
The Salt Lake County Vital Records page is the local access point for the certificate and index routes used in a Herriman resident lookup.

The County Vital Records page is the local access point, but it does not turn restricted certificates into an open name list. For older events, Salt Lake County Archives and Utah State Archives provide selective indexes and series.
Herriman City Cemetery adds a local family clue but has no online name-indexed interment database. Its office and forms can connect a deceased person to a spouse, parents, birth or death places, veteran service, plot, applicant, or transfer recipient. Treat those fields as a lead to verify, not as proof of a current resident.
Herriman Voter Record Boundaries
Vote.Utah.gov lets a person check their own registration and polling information. A lawfully obtained public voter file may include name, physical and mailing address, age range, party, active or inactive status, districts, and vote history. Full date of birth, license or ID number, Social Security number, email, phone, signature, and At-Risk information are withheld. A blank result can reflect spelling, timing, inactivity, withholding, or the limits of the request.
Salt Lake County Elections administers the county file. Its contact is 385-468-7400 and vote@saltlakecounty.gov. Public data requests can have a fee, and the research did not expose a current ZIP or street browse screen. A self-status result is for the voter, not a third-party household roster. Do not infer an absent person from a protected or withheld record.
Use the right question. A voter record can show that the election file contains a name and address category. It cannot certify ownership, every household member, or a person's present whereabouts.
Herriman Resident Business and License Clues
Utah Commerce Business Registration offers “Search Business Entity Records,” but the full anonymous result fields were not exposed. Filings may connect an organization to formation, status, registered agent, principal or mailing address, organizers, managers, officers, amendments, or dissolution. A registered office is not a residence. UCC filings are separate and use names as submitted.
Utah DOPL's free Licensee Lookup supports begins-with or contains name search, profession, and license-number modes. A core number can return all licenses, while a core plus four-digit identifier can target one. Results show name, city, profession, number, and status. DOPL warns that a lower license can be expired or superseded while another remains active.
Herriman requires local business licensing, but a current public register was not located. City Council recap material can identify license-consent items. For a missing city record, ask for a business name, license type, parcel or address, and date range under GRAMA. The city, County Health, Commerce, DOPL, and UCC systems are separate custodians.
Herriman Resident Lookup GRAMA Fallback
When an index is silent, make a narrow request under Utah's Government Records Access and Management Act, Utah Code Title 63G, Chapter 2. Sections 63G-2-201, 63G-2-203, and 63G-2-204 govern public access, reasonable actual-cost fees, and response timing. A GRAMA request should identify an existing record, date range, subject, address, case number, or document type. It does not require a custodian to create a person profile or answer a broad research question.
Herriman's City Recorder is the local starting point for city records, elections, minutes, and GRAMA compliance. Contact 5355 West Herriman Main Street, Herriman, UT 84096, 801-446-5323, or recorder@herriman.gov. County Archives is an appointment-only fallback with staff research at $25 per hour after the first 15 minutes free. Name the series, year, box, book, image, or page when known.
A denial may be appealed to the chief administrative officer under §63G-2-401. Protected, juvenile, victim, medical, security, and federally restricted material may be redacted. Keep a request copy, response, fee notice, and appeal deadline with the lookup notes.
Herriman Resident Lookup Safety Limits
Utah's Safe at Home program gives eligible survivors a substitute address and mail forwarding through a certified Program Assistant. Actual home and mailing addresses, city or county, precinct, phone, and related identifiers are confidential. Voter withholding is a separate county-election process for qualifying voters, including certain victims, law-enforcement officers, protection-order subjects, armed-forces members, public figures, and co-residents. Do not treat a blank result as an invitation to work around a safety program.
Correct errors with the custodian that created the record: Assessor for parcel data, Recorder for an instrument or index issue, Elections for voter data, the court clerk for a docket, and OVRS or County Vital Records for a vital record. A commercial opt-out does not alter a deed, docket, vital record, or voter file. For data concerns, Utah AG or DCP lists 801-530-6601 and 800-721-7233.
Lawful personal use. A Herriman resident lookup is appropriate for family history, reconnecting, estate research, and personal civic questions. Utah Code §76-5-106.5 describes stalking conduct that can include monitoring, surveillance, appearing at a residence, contacting a neighbor, property interference, or electronic acts. Never use public records to stalk, harass, intimidate, or harm anyone.
